Partner Visa (820/801/309/100)

Permanent Partner Visa (820/801/309/100)

The Partner Visa program allows Australian citizens, permanent residents, and eligible New Zealand citizens to sponsor their partner to live and work in Australia with them. There are two types of Partner Visas available: temporary and permanent.

Temporary Partner Visas: The Subclass 820/309 visa is a temporary partner visa that allows the applicant to live and work in Australia while the permanent Subclass 801/100 visa application is processed. To be eligible for this visa, you must be in a genuine relationship with your partner, either married or de facto, and be sponsored by your Australian partner. You must also meet health and character requirements, and your relationship must meet certain eligibility criteria.

Permanent Partner Visas: The Subclass 801/100 visa is a permanent partner visa that allows you to remain in Australia indefinitely with your partner. To be eligible for this visa, you must have held a Subclass 820/309 visa for at least two years, be in a genuine relationship with your partner, meet health and character requirements, and have complied with Australian laws and visa conditions.

The application process for Partner Visas can be complex and involves multiple stages, including providing evidence of the genuineness of the relationship, meeting health and character requirements, and demonstrating that you meet the eligibility criteria for the visa. Additionally, the sponsor will need to provide evidence of their Australian citizenship or permanent residency, and their ability to support the applicant.
